If you’re seeking a place to unwind, reconnect with yourself, and soak up the beauty of the Tuscan landscape, Hotel COMO Castello del Nero is the ultimate destination. Whether you're there to reflect, recharge, or simply relax, it offers the kind of experience that stays with you long after you've left.

Nestled in the heart of Tuscany's Chianti region, COMO Castello del Nero is the essence of luxury and serenity. This five-star retreat, surrounded by the rolling hills and timeless beauty of the Tuscan countryside, is the perfect escape from the busyness of everyday life.

I chose this secluded countryside hotel for exactly that reason—its peaceful location promised a haven of calm, with the ideal surroundings for hiking, practicing yoga, or simply enjoying a good book by the pool.

During my four-day stay, I found little reason to leave the property. COMO Castello del Nero offered everything I needed for a truly slow holiday. From the soothing ambiance to the luxurious amenities, it became my personal oasis.

What made it even more special was how quiet the property was during the day. Most guests would head out to explore Tuscany, leaving me to enjoy the hotel’s tranquil spaces almost entirely to myself.

Each morning, I rose with the sun, greeted by the most breathtaking view from my duplex suite. The rolling Tuscan landscape stretched out before me, with the morning fog slowly lifting to reveal olive groves and towering cypress trees—a scene so peaceful it felt like a painting coming to life.

My days were a perfect balance of relaxation and quiet exploration. I wandered the serene paths surrounding the property, soaking in the beauty of the gardens, spent leisurely hours reading by the pool, and indulged in the luxurious COMO Shambhala spa.

The treatments were nothing short of exceptional, carried out with such care and attention to detail. I became enamored with their signature massage oil—a scent so divine that I made sure to bring some home. Even now, every time I use it, I’m transported back to those tranquil days in Tuscany.

Dining was equally a delight. The Pavilion restaurant, with its casual and cozy atmosphere, became my go-to for every meal. From wood-fired pizzas to handmade pasta, each dish was a celebration of Italian simplicity at its finest.

I was so content with the laid-back, delicious offerings that I never felt the need to try the Michelin-starred La Torre. Fine dining has its allure, but for me, the relaxed ambiance and authentic flavors at Pavilion were perfect.

Breakfast was a feast for the senses—a buffet overflowing with local produce, fresh pastries, and perhaps the best raw honey I’ve ever tasted. It was a beautiful start to each day, and I savored every bite as the Tuscan sun warmed the terrace.

I can’t wait to return to COMO Castello del Nero in the future. The combination of its quiet elegance, warm hospitality, and the sheer beauty of its surroundings made it an unforgettable retreat. It’s truly the perfect destination for anyone looking to slow down and reconnect with life’s simple pleasures.
