Day 1  | Arrival & Welcome Dinner

Monday June 24: Arrival between 4-5PM. Together we will enjoy a lovely welcome dinner at the Cottage.

Day 2 | Workshop at the Cottage

Tuesday June 25: We will begin the day at the cottage. Christina will teach a hands-on workshop on the following themes:

  • Finding inspiration & working with visual storytelling
  • Feeling confident working with natural light 
  • Mastering compositions & camera angles
  • Creating mood, atmosphere & emotions in images
  • Christina will demonstrate different scenes with nature and the cottage as backdrop, and you will get lots of opportunities to experiment, play and photograph beautiful photos. In the afternoon we will take a walk in the neighbourhood to photograph the fields, the harbour, the beach, and the gorgeous Falsled Inn.

Day 3 | Workshop - Landscape Magic

Wednesday June 26: Christinas will take you to her favourite locations to capture the magic of the countryside and absorbing the positive energy that emanates from nature. We will explore rolling hills, seaside lifestyle, beautiful cottages, historic details, and nature scenes. Christina will demonstrate how she works on location shooting travel and lifestyle photos. There will be plenty of hands-on training and personal coaching + feedback.

Day 4 | Workshop - Historic Charm

Thursday June 27: We will visit the lovely little town Faaborg - a perfect example of a historic Danish town. We will photograph half-timbered houses in cobblestone streets. Scandinavian colored buildings with delightfully detailed doors, and capture the essens of historic charm. In the afternoon Christina will demonstrate her editing workflow both in Lightroom and on Iphone apps.

Day 5 | Goodbye Breakfast

  • Thursday June 28: We meet to enjoy our final breakfast together and to say our goodbye's between 8-9. Check-out at 10AM.

Who: This retreat is designed exclusively for women, providing a safe and nurturing space for you to explore, learn, grow and ask questions. The workshop is open to all levels of photography. No matter your current level of experience Christina will help you reach your photography goals. Since the retreat only have space for a small group, you'll get plenty of time to receive personal guidance from Christina.

When: The workshop runs from 5PM on June 24 to 10AM on June 28, 2024.

Workshop Location: Christina's Private Cottage in Falsled, Denmark as well as the local area.

Accommodation: Participants will sleep at the local Bed & Breakfast Birkelygaard, a mere stone’s throw away from Christinas Cottage. Birkelygaard's garden have enchanting views over the fjord and the fields. Just around the corner you'll find the forest, a beach, the renowned Falsled Kro Inn and a small harbour. Here you'll be able to enjoy peace, nature, and local charm when you have a break from the workshop. Each participant will get a private room with bathroom. Breakfast will be served at Birkelygaard every morning between 8-9am. 

INCLUDED: 4-night stay, intensive fully-packed workshop with time for individual attention, all materials, breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. Transportation on all day trips. 

NOT INCLUDED: Travel and transportation to and from the workshop location. Soft drinks and wine/alcohol.

Languages: This workshop is conducted in easy-to-understand English. 

Food: Please note that due to local food traditions, the retreat primarily serves fish and meat options for lunch and dinner. Therefore, it may not be suitable for those following a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle, or individuals with specific food intolerances.

Walking: To fully enjoy the field trips and photo walks, participants must be able to comfortably walk about 5km a day in moderate/slow tempo.

Travel & Location

Workshop Location: The retreat takes place in the small countryside village Falsled, located in the south of Funen, Denmark. Participants are responsible for all travel arrangements to and from the workshop location. See below how to get there.

By Car: If you travel by car, you can drive to workshop location by following the highway to Odense, and from there drive south to Falsled. You can park just outside the door and of course parking is free. The exact address will be shared with participants after registration.

By Plane: You can fly to Billund airport or Copenhagen airport. If you rent a car the drive will be about two hours from the airport to Falsled. If you land in Copenhagen you can also jump on the train from the Airport directly to Odense train station, which takes about 1,5 hour. From Odense train station I recommend taking a taxi - a 30 min. drive (35km).

By Train: Take the train to Odense train station. Odense is the largest city On Funen and was the childhood home of master storyteller Hans Christian Andersen. A nice city to explore if you have some extra time. From the train station jump on a taxi and take the 30 min. drive (35km) to Falsled.

Cancellation policy: Due to the involved planning the workshop is non refundable. Please make sure you can make it before you sign up. All attendees are strongly encouraged to buy travel/hotel cancellation insurance as well as medical insurance. Christina reserves the right to cancel the workshop if there are too few participants.

What to bring: A camera; any camera you prefer, even your phone camera or a compact camera. Optional; a laptop with Lightroom or Photoshop installed. Also optional; different lenses (a zoom lens, a macro lens and a 40mm or 50mm lens). Comfortable walking shoes or sandals suitable for hiking. Swimwear if you wish to take a dip in the sea just outside the door.
